Because Connecting to God is the most important part of our mission, we have determined to put our best into the Sunday morning worship. When we come to church, "we want to ensure that nothing stands in the way of our having an awesome encounter with the Living God! Once the "church service" begins, it is the responsibility of our Worship team to lead everyone in singing, which is prayerfully planned out and intended to point our hearts in the direction of Christ! At some time during the church service, and after the Lord's Supper, a Bible-centered and relevant message will be presented, taking the never-changing Word of God to an ever-changing world!
This is the team designated to reach out into our neighborhood and community. We have gone to the park and prayed with people, we have packed lunches for kids whose parents are working during fall break, and we have served our neighborhood with a spaghetti dinner.

Finding responsive "seekers" is an important witnessing tool, but it is also an opportunity to be blessed. It is always a special treat to take time to get to know people. First Christian Church utilizes in-home and in-class Bible studies to familiarize recent visitors and potential members with the church here at First Christian and to share the gospel. We go through a series of lessons on God, Jesus, the Bible, grace, and redemption.
I-Hope recovery serves as a "care-giving ministry," as many of the folks we work with have had bad experiences at some point in their lives. We take them through a faith-based study called "Making Peace With Your Past" to help get them back on track! This ministry doubles as an evangelism and outreach team, as well.
Barnabas is simply an encouragement team. As any church has a prayer list, so do we. We take our prayer list and use it as vehicle to reach out, whether by card, phone call, text or visitation. When anyone in the church or community needs prayer, we simply send out a "flocknote" to the entire congregation, initially. Then the Barnabas team puts "hands and feet" on those prayers!
This is the team designated to reach out into our neighborhood and community. We plan approximately two to five outreach events per year, and we do occasional prayer walks throughout the surrounding area. One thing is for sure: we could always use help. Laura is very creative in reaching out! We have gone to the park and prayed with people, and we have packed lunches for kids whose parents are working during Fall break. We have also served our neighborhood with a spaghetti dinner at no cost!
This is a group of dedicated women who put together our calendar for the year. It is usually (but not limited to) activities within the church, and designed for fellowship. Examples would be special dinners for different occasions, Macon Bacon Baseball games, movie nights, etc. We have had as many as a dozen inreach opportunities planned for each year. As you might know, it takes a lot of work to plan these activities, so we thank the women for their hard work, and would welcome your help as well!
